Chicken sprite can be a go to recipe when you’re bit lazy for the day and still craving for something delicious. Because this recipe is very easy to prepare and you can leave it and just wait for it to be cooked.
You’ll get surprised that after you’ve taste this, you’ll never notice that there’s actually sprite in this recipe.
Soda is know to act as a great tenderizer for the meat. So not only sprite that you can use to your meat, you can also try to use like Coke but cola will give a caramel flavor.

Ingredients
- 1 whole Chicken
- 1 bulb Garlic
- 1 pc Onion
- 3 pcs Bay leaves
- 500 ml Sprite
- 3-4 tbsp Oyster Sauce
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Ground Pepper
- 2 tbsp Cooking oil
- Spring Onion for garnish
Instructions
- Mince the garlic and slice the onions
- In medium heated pan, pour the cooking oil and pan fried both sides of the chicken until it turns brown. This is to avoid ripping the skin later
- Remove the chicken and saute the garlic in the same pan until toasted brown.
- Saute the onion and bay leaves
- Add back the chicken and pour the sprite, oyster sauce, soy sauce then pepper
- Cover and let it simmer for 15 mins.
- Flip the other side and cover again till the sauce has been reduced to a thicker sauce
- Transfer in a serving plate and pour the sauce on top then garnish it with spring onion.
