Tilapia is one of the most common fish to serve during mealtime. Many people love tilapia because it is relatively affordable due to it is very east to propagate and also doesn’t taste very fishy.

When we’re serving fried fish, it is often that we have leftovers because it is usually dry, bland or boring to eat. This recipe will teach you how you can transform your leftover fish or re-create your fried fish into a delish dish that your whole family can enjoy without leftovers.

TILAPIA FISHBALL (MEATBALL)

Ingredients
  

  • Cooking oil for frying
  • 1 pc Onion
  • 1 pc Garlic
  • 1 small Carrot
  • Spring Onions
  • 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground pepper
  • 2 pcs Eggs
  • 1 whole Tilapia

Instructions
 

  • In high heated pan, pour cooking oil.
  • When the oil is hot, put in the tilapia and cover the pan, but make sure that your cover has small opening to let the steam come out.
  • Fry each side until golden cripy for about 10mins. (Or you can wait till no more crackling sounds)
  • Remove from the pan and cool it down while preparing the other ingredients
  • Mince the garlic, onion, carrots and spring onions.
  • In a large bowl, mix all the chopped ingredients and shred the fish. (Make sure the fish is cold enough to touch)
  • Add in the salt, pepper, eggs and breadcrumbs.
  • Mix it using your hand until all are well mixed.
  • Heat the same pan and oil you’ve used to fry the fish as this will have the fish flavor.
  • Scoop a spoonfull of the mixture and form a ball using your hand and slowly place it in your heated oil.
  • Fry it for 5-10mins or until it becomes golden brown. Since our fish was already cooked
  • Remove from the pan and drain it or place it in a paper towel to remove the excess oil.
  • This is best served with ketchup, mang tomas or sweet chili sauce
